Baepi Peak Trail
The only mountain offered by PEIB for mountaineering lovers. A 7 km round trip, 850 m elevation gain, reaching 1,048 m at Baepi Peak. Panoramic views of the channel between Ilhabela and São Sebastião, islets, Alcatrazes Island, neighboring towns and the coastal range. Sections of grassland and dense rainforest.
Times: Departure at 7am. Meeting point to be arranged with the guide before the trail.

Stage 1
Departure
Meeting at the agreed point and transfer to the Ilhabela State Park gatehouse, where the trail begins. Before setting off, a brief warm-up and the main safety instructions for the hike.

Stage 2
The trail and its charms
Along the way you cross different landscapes and ecosystems. Grassland — the first stretch, of low vegetation, with a more open view and an introduction to the island's natural scenery. Dense Rainforest — we enter the thick forest, where biodiversity becomes even more evident, with abundant fauna and flora. A challenging climb — as we gain altitude, the trail grows steeper, demanding stamina and determination, with strategic stops for hydration and rest.

Stage 3
The great moment — reaching Baepi Peak
After a challenging route, we are rewarded with one of the most spectacular views in Ilhabela! A 360° panorama at 1,048 meters of altitude: the Ilhabela channel and its turquoise-blue waters, neighboring islands such as Ilha das Cabras and Alcatrazes Island, the towns of São Sebastião and Caraguatatuba and other spots on the northern coast, and the majestic outline of the Serra do Mar in the background. The perfect moment to take photos and take in the view.

The return
After some time to rest and take in the summit, we begin the descent, returning along the same path to the gatehouse.
